Thanks to Friends of the Pocatello Animal Shelter, local residents can bring a feline pet into their home for just $25.
For the month of October, the group will contribute a little over $70 towards the cost of adopting a cat, meaning the new pet parent will only have to pay $25 for their new furry family member.
“We’d like to encourage anyone who wants to bring a cat into their home to take advantage of this special pricing,” said Mary Remer, Animal Services Director for the City of Pocatello. “Now is your chance to make a difference in the life of an animal.”
The fee includes the spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, deworming, microchip registration, collar, identification tag, and more.
September saw the shelter receive 273 cats which is an all-time monthly high. Currently, the shelter has 76 pens for cat holding and they are caring for more than that number on a daily basis.
"We have a great selection of felines to choose your family pet from, and we need the public’s help in finding new homes for them all," Remer said.
