The City of Pocatello’s Community Recreation Center will be closing for annual maintenance later this month.
Starting August 21 through September 4, the facility will close for upgrades and a deep cleaning. Employees are currently scheduled to perform pool maintenance, paint the gym, tile the steam room, and undertake a series of smaller projects.
“We’ve chosen late August because it is one of the center’s slower times,” said Stacie VanKirk, Community Recreation Center Manager. “We apologize for any inconvenience the closure may cause.”
The facility will be completely closed for the August 21 eclipse. However, the front desk will be open for program registration and general information other days during the closure Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Community Recreation Center will reopen Tuesday, September 5 but due to unforeseen circumstances, the date may be rescheduled.
Members will receive either a two-week pro-rate or two week extension on their membership and residents with questions are invited to contact Community Recreation Center staff at 208-232-901.
