The City of Pocatello is calling for all hands on deck for this year’s annual Portneuf River Cleanup happening this weekend. Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the City is asking for volunteers to help pick up trash and other types of debris along the banks of the river. Those willing to lend a hand are asked to meet at the north end of Raymond Park to pick up trash bags and also sign volunteer waivers. “The riparian habitat that exists on the banks of the Portneuf is home to a wide variety of species,” said Hannah Sanger, Science and Environment Division Manager for the City of Pocatello. “By keeping these areas clean and healthy, we’ll help keep this wildlife around for years to come.” For more information on the cleanup or to arrange for a group to clean up a specific section of river, please contact Hannah Sanger at 234-6518 or by email at hsanger@pocatello.us.
