New and adjusted fees for services and programs provided by the City of Pocatello will go into effect October 1, 2015.
The new fee schedule was adopted by the Pocatello City Council August 20.
“The fee increases were needed to offset the increasing costs of providing City services,” said Joyce Stroschein, Chief Financial Officer for the City of Pocatello. “Fee revenues help to make up the difference between the cost of a service and tax revenue. In other cases, a service is 100 percent fee supported.”
Citizens will also notice a slight increase on their utility bills for water, sewer, and sanitation services.
“The increases to our utility fees are determined by an independent rate study,” Stroschein said. “These activities are 100 percent fee supported and receive no tax dollars.”
