City Creek area gates will close for the season to motorized access Wednesday, November 15, at the end of the day.
The gates will remain closed for the winter and reopen in mid-May weather permitting. This entails closing the motorized access gates to both City Creek and Cusick Creek. This annual road closure coincides with similar closures by the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management.
Closing the gates helps protect watershed health including but not limited to minimizing erosion and other resource damage.
City Creek trails will remain open to non-motorized recreation use such as hiking, biking, and horses, but users should refrain from using trails during muddy conditions.
