The City of Pocatello is pleased to announce that paving of the Brennan Extension section of the Portneuf Greenway across the Portneuf River from Sacagawea Park is complete and the trail is open for public use. The only work remaining is seeding with native plants and minor cleanup.
This project was a cooperative effort between the City of Pocatello and the Portneuf Greenway Foundation. A pedestrian bridge connecting this trail with the Millward Mile Trail and Sacagawea Park will be completed in 2026.
The Brennan Extension and pedestrian bridge will complement the City's intersection and pedestrian improvements at the intersection of Kraft Road and the North Main Extension. The Portneuf Greenway Foundation will schedule a ribbon cutting and a formal dedication of the trail at a later date.
