The City of Pocatello and the Pocatello Police Department (PPD) are pleased to announce the successful completion of PPD’s Idaho Chief of Police Association (ICOPA) Accreditation.
“This is an accomplishment that you [Mayor and City Council Members] and the citizens of Pocatello can be proud of as it demonstrates your dedication to maintaining a progressive and professional police department for your community,” wrote Ret. Chief of Police R. David Moore, ICOPA Accreditation Coordinator.
The purpose of ICOPA’s accreditation is to establish a professional standards program for law enforcement agencies and ensure that those standards are being met and maintained.
“I want to thank everyone on the force for their efforts. As a department, we are constantly working towards our mission of community-commitment policing,” said Pocatello Police Chief Roger Schei.
PPD was initially accredited in 2012. This is the third consecutive re-accreditation through ICOPA.
