Pocatello Emergency Communications Center Awarded First ACE Certification in the State

Emergency Communications Center has achieved ACE Certification

The City of Pocatello and the Pocatello Police Department are proud to announce the Emergency Communication Center (Dispatch) was awarded the Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) Certification by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED).

The Pocatello, Idaho, Emergency Communication Center is the first center in the state to receive this certification and only the 306th in the world. Thanks to years of dedication, hard work, and countless hours, the Dispatch team reached the standards required for this certification. 

In 2021 there was a grand total of 154,033 calls in and out of dispatch. That is an average of 422 calls per day. 

In 2021, the busiest month was August with 14,881 total calls.

  • 911 calls = 1,738
  • Non-emergency calls = 10,573
  • Outgoing calls = 2,570

This great accomplishment benefits not only our police and fire, but also our community. Congratulations to all of the Emergency Communications Officers, Leads, and Supervisors.
