During opening weekend guests were able to walk through the new Zoo Connections entrance and gift shop. The new structure is 1,200 square which includes new bathrooms. The new building was made possible through donations by Connections Credit Union and the Zoo Idaho Zoological Society (ZIZS).
During opening weekend 496 guests passed through the gates into the zoo, which is the highest number since the pandemic started. In 2019 1,049 guests visited the zoo during the opening weekend which landed on Easter weekend.
For the month of April Zoo Idaho is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Starting May 1, the zoo will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
