[ARCHIVED] SIPH - Southeastern Idaho Public Health’s Weekly COVID-19 Update | 9/13/21

For the week of September 7 – September 13, Southeastern Idaho Public Health had 865 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19. This brings the total of confirmed and probable cases to 20,205. Out of the 20,205 cases, 19,091 have recovered from COVID-19.

 

There are twelve confirmed deaths related to COVID-19. There are four from Bannock County: a male in his 90’s, a female in her 80’s, a male in his 50’s and a female in her 70’s. There were four deaths in Bingham County: a male in his 70’s a male in his 50’s, a female in her 60’s and a male in his 70’s. There were two deaths in Caribou County: a male in his 50’s and a male in his 60’s. Additionally, there was one death in Power County a male in his 40’s and one death in Bear Lake County a female in her 70’s. This brings the total to 270 deaths due to COVID-19. Out of respect to these individuals’ families, no additional details will be released.

To help prevent the spread of this virus, it is more important than ever that the public follows the following prevention methods.

• Wear cloth face coverings in public places.

• Practice social distancing (6ft).

• Stay home if you are sick.

• Avoid people who are sick.

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your sleeve when you cough or sneeze.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

• Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs using a disinfecting solution.

• Get vaccinated as soon as possible.
