About the Commission
The Civil Service Commission concerns itself with employment matters regarding Firefighters. The Commission, which operates under regulations established by State statutes, is composed of 3 members serving 6-year terms. The Commission is responsible for examination of applicants, appointments, and promotions to the Fire Department. The department fills positions from lists of qualified people as determined by the Civil Service Commission.
